In this GIMP 2.10 tutorial, I show you the easiest, fastest method for cropping an image into a circle shape using the latest version of GIMP. This is an update to a tutorial I create 2 years ago, which I think now uses a slower/more redundant method. I use a combination of the ellipse select tool, shortcut keys, and the crop to content feature.
This is a great tutorial for beginners.

Could you make a quick tutorial how to circle crop a Rubiks cube Xd
Thank you for adding the shortcut keys. Helps to get in good habits for quicker work 🙂
You showed and explained each step clearly – excellent work
Thanks, helped a lot!
Hi When you show your final product with no background with a black base, mine comes out with a white base. Does that matter? if so, how do i change that?
Woah! Thanks man!
Informative and clearly demonstrated! Thanks
Thanks for the guide, your channel is awesome, don't make you cancer until get the to point like other channels, I have a question though, I don't want to make perfect circle, there are flames scattering out of the circle on my image so I want that flames to be border of my circle, so which guide I should watch? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.
Edit: Ok I figured it out, I added alpha channel then selected with fuzy selection and then deleted it…:)
Its not a complete circle crop; it has some square around which can be observed when image is placed inline with text.
Excellent tutorial. Easy, straightforward and it works! Well done
Merci beaucoup
pRESSING DELETE IS SHOWING WHITE COLOR, NOT TRANSPARENT
Thank you very much just what I was searching for. I briefly used GIMP in 2007 so I am a newbie. Your instructions are very good and worked well but I had to put speed at .75 and play certain parts over and over to see which small icons you quickly clicked on. I am using a cheap Dell 32" monitor and think I need a better monitor or better eyes for this type of work. Purchased your course to say thanks for helping me and because I need more help.
wonderful and the best one
Great, you are the Master of Gimp! Thumbs UP
When I hit Ctrl+I, background doesn't change, and when I push Del nothing happens. What do I do? I did 3 circled pics but his tutorial, but with this 4th it's not working. What could be wrong?
Thanks! You explained it very easily. I cropped something else and it worked just fine. You, Rock!
Best Tutorial ever! Thank you so much
Very well explained dude ! Just discovered your channel, very helpful. You explain every step and why you do xyz (choose png because its the only one that allows transparent background, what feathered limit does, what adding alpha channel means ,etc.)
It's not working.
Thank you for making this Vid it was very straight to the point and very useful
does gimp work on mac?
Outstanding tutorial! Thanks mate.
why don't you just copy and paste??
great vids man! Thanks alot
Just saw more of the World Cup, by watching this, than from anywhere else. I guess, if I had to pick one, I would go for England. Just so they don't keep on going on about 1966.
Look! A crop circle!
Many thanks for another very useful tutorial, Michael.
Re. the World Cup, who knows who will win, but I am reluctantly routing for England, after being shocked that the Netherlands failed to qualify a couple of days ago. Who do you want to win it, Michael?
